There’s always plenty of things to do in Belgrade, especially during the weekend. Remember our text related to that topic? However, other than activities you can usually conduct each weekend in Belgrade, this weekend (16-17 April) has additional options for all enthusiastic people who find themselves in our city.
Remember our last year’s text about the Belgrade Days? This nice event takes place each year, from 16 until 19 April, to honor two important dates in the history of Belgrade. This year, some of the most interesting events include:
- “Our treasure”: an exhibition of articles from Belgrade museum collections, held at the Hall of the Belgrade City Assembly;
- Marking of 400 years from birth of Willem Shakespeare: Cvetni trg, Sunday at 12:00;
- History part: touring former Nazi camps “Topovske šupe” and “Staro sajmište”, held at 12:00/16:00, respectively, each day;
- “Sky full of stars is above us, and nothing else matters”: each day at 20:00 you can visit the Belgrade Planetarium and look at the stars!
Remember how we covered the legendary Belgrade Marathon last year? This year, the Marathon is held on Saturday, 16 April, at 10:00. Bear in mind that part of the city will be closed during the race. If you like athletics, or at least people who try they hardest to beat their own limits and records, pay it a visit!
The 151. Eternal Derby, a clash between Red Star and Partizan, is also held on Saturday, at 18:00. The venue is “Rajko Mitic”, the stadium of Red Star. Even though this derby doesn’t have that big competitive value, as Red Star will definitely be the new Serbian football champion, the eternal rival is always the one to beat. Do you want to join more than 40.000 people and visit the match?
Pick an event or two for yourself and enjoy this sunny weekend in Belgrade!
