Princess Ljubica Residence is located in Kosančićev venac, just like many other interesting buildings and monuments Belgrade and this area offer.
Princess Ljubica was the wife of Prince Miloš, Serbian ruler for most of the first part of 19th century, including the period between 1829 and 1831, during which the residence had been constructed. Its purpose was to serve as a residence to the Princess and her sons, Milan and Mihailo, both future rulers of Serbia, although only Mihailo leaved a significant mark in the Serbian history.
In the presence, Princess Ljubica Residence is serving as a museum. Visitors can see the real, authentic (although royal) Serbian home of 19th century. You can enjoy in both older look, with strong Turkish influence, and more modern (second half of the 19th century) look, influenced by Belgrade citizens who returned from schools in western Europe, bringing back home the new, modern waves in the interior design.
We’ll here show you some pictures of Princess Ljubica Residence, with a strong recommendation to visit it when in Belgrade!
