Makadam is a cafe and a store located in one of our favorite Belgrade neighborhoods – Kosančićev Venac. It tends to cheer us when we have a tough day at work with a glass of a good wine or to wake us up during weekends when we wish to fill our time with simple, perfect moments.
On the outside, there’s a cafe on the corner, with not many pedestrians or cars passing by, so you can say it’s one, pretty much, hidden oasis in this busy city. They serve really good Serbian wine, out of which we usually pick Tamjanika; Kabinet beer, Java coffee, and cocktails with rakija. When you have only the best picked for you, you don’t really need to think when ordering. Everything is, as we mentioned in the title, top-class.
Inside there is a retail store of Serbian handmade stuff. It seems like the owners make a great effort to pick only the best of the best that’s handmade in Serbia – high quality home decor, cosmetics, wines, jewelry and much more. If we were foreigners, this is a place where we’d find souvenirs to bring back home. 🙂
No matter how much time you spend in Belgrade, make sure to stop by at Makadam and have a nice, quality rest from your busy day.
