Bajloni Bar is located in the very center of Belgrade, in Cetinjska Street, 5 minutes from Knez Mihailova Street and Republic square (central Belgrade square). It is near Bajloni greenmarket, a very nice and old greenmarket here in our capital. Likewise Kalenić greenmarket, it is worth visiting. Our restaurant, and the greenmarket owe their titles to Ignjat Bajloni, a 19th century Czech immigrant to Serbia, an entrepreneur who lived in the area.
As you can see from the pictures, Bajloni is a colorful and happy place with a really nice and cozy atmosphere. It is also pet friendly, and a playful brown puppy sniffing our feet as soon as we entered the place proved that animals are really welcome here. Bajloni has a full vintage interior: old wooden tables, cupboards and jazz music can, for a second, make you feel like you returned at least a several decades to the past. There are, also, a lot of plants, such as cute little cactuses.
Bajloni is the place to go to lunch with your friends, an inspiring meeting with your business partners, or when you want to finish your creative work very quickly, because this place breathes creativity and motivation.
All praise to the manager and the staff who made us feel like we’re home and offered us the best food specialities. And, in Bajloni, the food is sensational.
We had lamb with a sauce made of dark beer and acacia honey, and a stake with a sweet sauce which included blackberry juice. The decision which meal was better was extremely difficult to be made. The meat was tasteful and soft, and the sauces really added a lot to the taste. We also had potato, fresh bread and a nice salad. Our impressions can be summed up in a few words: we have not eaten many tastier meals then we had eaten on that Saturday afternoon at Bajloni.
In general, our experience was stunning and we can fully recommend this place to everybody. Make sure to stop by at least for a coffee, and if you are hungry, two recipes described above are definitely our recommendation.
